Calcium Propionate

Calcium propionate is an organic chemical compound widely used in feed and food manufacture. It is identified as E282.

It is used in the manufacture of feeds for all species of farm animals. It is added to feeds at a ratio of 0.1% by weight.

The addition of calcium propionate to feeds reduces energy deficiency in animals. It slows down the loss of body mass,

which is crucial in the perinatal period. A feed with calcium propionate provides the animal with more nutrients,

improves renewal processes and makes the animal's body stronger.  Calcium propionate has strong antifungal

and preservative properties.
