Sorbic Acid

Sorbic acid is an unsaturated organic acid with strong antifungal properties. It inhibits the growth of mould, pathogenic bacteria and yeast. It has a beneficial effect on the health of farm animals by making the digestive system stronger. In particular,

it prevents diarrhoea.

The addition of sorbic acid to feeds improves feed consumption and, as a result, weight gain in the animals. Sorbic acid is also used in the cosmetics and food industries (E200).

This acid is an effective preservative added to foodstuffs and cosmetics, and a water-retaining agent.
