Sodium Formate

Sodium formate is an organic compound that dissolves in water well. It is used in the manufacture of animal feeds, textiles, paper products, leather products and food.

In the textile industry, sodium formate is used in stabiliser compositions and as a reducing agent in dyeing and printing textiles. Also, sodium formate is an additive in the  

chrome tanning of skins to produce leather. It is also a wood preserver.

In the food industry, it is used as a preservative known as E237.
