Sodium Acid Carbonate

Sodium bicarbonate is an organic compound, commonly known as baking soda. It is widely used in the manufacture of animal feeds, foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals.

It is a fortifying agent added to feeds for all species of farm animals. It helps to regulate acidity. Sodium bicarbonate

is an effective buffering agent and prevents the development

of acidemia in animals. It is rich in sodium, deficiency of which

may lead to loss of appetite and growth inhibition.

In the food industry, it is commonly known as baking soda

and is a raising agent. It is often added to bakes and cakes

as well as powdered fizzy drinks and effervescent tablets.

It is also used as a cleaner.
